My Work on Tropico:
During my time at Gaming Minds, I started out by simply creating assets, including textures, UVs, LODs, etc., and implementing them into the engine while ensuring they fit the art style.
I then moved on to a modular attachment system that’s being used for fences, pipes, cables, and similar objects. I created multiple modular asset collections and made sure they were ready to use for the rest of the team and the outsourcing firms. Chances are if you see some cables, air ducts, or pipes on a building in Tropico 7, a bunch of them will have been created by me.
For the last 1 & 1/2 months of my time there, I’ve been focusing on Tropico’s passenger vehicle fleet and trucks. While the rough models already existed, they needed major reworks because of various technical and visual issues. I’ve been overhauling and fixing the meshes, adding detail, creating textures, LODs, and often UVs for the cars from scratch. This required me to develop an efficient workflow.
Disclaimer:
Sadly I can’t publicly showcase what I worked on during my time a at Gaming Minds, since the project is still in development. However, I’m very happy to show you my work on Tropico in a more private context!
